The Town of Carmel and the Hamlets of Mahopac and Mahopac Falls 

The Town of Carmel, which includes the hamlets of Mahopac and Mahopac Falls, is located in south-central Putnam County and covers 36 miles. Lake Mahopac is the area's picturesque centerpiece measuring 6.5 miles around. Many residents of the town of Carmel enjoy deeded lake rights.  Kirk Lake and Lake Macgregor in Mahopac are additional popular recreational locations with wonderful homes dotting the shorelines.
     Carmel is an excellent commute into White Plains or Danbury, CT, and is a short distance to Metro North train service to Manhattan.

     Lake Gleneida provides a scenic entrance to 'Downtown Carmel'. The NYC reservoir system winds its way through the town of Carmel.

     Sycamore Park, located in Mahopac, is the largest recreational area in the town of Carmel. Activities here include swimming at Long Pond Lake, tennis, baseball, football, and handball.

     A second park in Mahopac handles the overflow events of the very active Carmel Recreation Program.
